Saja and Umm Ar-Rimth Protected Area are located in the northwest of Mahazat as-Sayd Protected Area, covers an area of 6,528.2 square kilometers with a medium vegetation cover that helps to preserve the genetic origins of some endemic and rare mammals, birds, and reptiles in the protected area.
Protected habitats vary from Little undulating low hills, exposed gravel plains, valleys dominated by Panicum plants, Acacia gerardii and Acacia tortilis trees, Colocynth, and Peganum plants. Limited numbers of Houbara bustards have been released into the protected area as a natural extension of the spread of Houbara bustards between Mahazat as-Sayd protected area and other breeding grounds.
