Quality of life is achieved in Vision 2030 through the integration of the environmental system and to achieve food and water security and well-being. The National Center for Wildlife Development is considered one of the centers of the system, which works to protect, develop and resettle ecosystems and biodiversity, in addition to treating risks related to wildlife. The year 2022 witnessed progress in protecting and developing the terrestrial and marine environment, areas of breeding endangered animal species, resettlement, and management of protected areas. The Center pays attention to localizing and attracting Saudi competencies to achieve national reliance on local competencies in the field of management and development of natural reserves through training and field work with international experts specialists.

National Center for Wildlife

The center has achieved unprecedented accomplishments in several projects and environmental discoveries, with the participation of national competencies and the collaboration of international experts. Among these achievements is the exploration project of biodiversity in the Red Sea, the discovery of cheetah mummies, and efforts towards their conservation program. The center also worked on increasing the area of protected areas to 30%, registering the Farasan Islands Reserve project with UNESCO. Additionally, the center has prioritized the use of cutting-edge technologies to serve wildlife, protect and enhance it, and develop systems to collect data and create digital maps. Performance indicators reflect the progress of the National Center for Wildlife towards regional leadership, the achievement of national goals, and the transition to a civilized system.
